Skin Home > Terbinafine HCl

Terbinafine hydrochloride (HCl) is an antifungal medication sold under the brand name Lamisil®. It is available by prescription only and has been licensed to treat several different kinds of fungus. The tablets are approved to treat fingernail and toenail fungus, and the oral granules are approved to treat tinea capitis (sometimes known as ringworm of the scalp).

Terbinafine is not suitable for everyone, so let your healthcare provider know before starting treatment if you have liver disease, a poorly functioning immune system, kidney failure, or any allergies. Headache, rash, and diarrhea are some of the most commonly reported side effects.
