While most people do not experience problems while using adapalene/benzoyl peroxide, side effects can still occur. Common ones include skin reactions, such as dryness, redness, and a burning or stinging sensation. In most cases, side effects are minor and easily treated. However, contact your healthcare provider right away if you develop serious problems while using the drug, such as hives or difficulty breathing.
An Introduction to Side Effects of Adapalene/Benzoyl PeroxideAs with any medication, adapalene/benzoyl peroxide (Epiduo®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. Most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.

Serious Adapalene/Benzoyl Peroxide Side EffectsSome side effects of this medicine are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
- Severe, intolerable skin reactions
- Skin reactions, such as redness, peeling, or burning, that do not improve with continued use (usually within four weeks)
- Skin reactions that worsen after two to three weeks of repeated use
- Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
- An unexplained rash
- Swelling of the mouth or throat
- Difficulty breathing.
