Vitiligo is a pigmentation disorder that affects approximately 1 to 2 percent of the world's population. The disorder affects all races and both sexes equally. Although white patches of skin are the primary symptom, people with this condition may also have premature graying of the scalp hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, and beard.
