How Does This Medicine Work?

Verdeso belongs to a group of medications known as glucocorticoids, which are a type of corticosteroid (or "steroid" for short). Although glucocorticoids have numerous effects in the body, they are used mostly for their anti-inflammatory or immune-suppressing properties. Verdeso works for atopic dermatitis by decreasing inflammation or suppressing an overactive immune system.
 

Can Children Use It?

Verdeso is approved for use in children age three months and older. It is not approved to treat diaper rash.
 

Off-Label Uses for Verdeso

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this medicine for something other than the treatment of atopic dermatitis. This is known as an "off-label" use. Some examples of off-label Verdeso uses might include the treatment of a variety of other conditions that are likely to respond to a topical steroid, such as:
