Ultravate Cream
People who have certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis, dermatitis, or eczema, may benefit from Ultravate® (halobetasol propionate) cream or ointment. This prescription medicine works to relieve itching and inflammation caused by these skin problems by reducing inflammation and suppressing an overactive immune system.
The dose of Ultravate your healthcare provider prescribes will depend on the severity of the skin condition being treated. In general, a thin layer of the medicine is applied to the affected areas of the skin once or twice a day for up to two weeks. Possible side effects may include burning, itching, and stinging.
Before using this cream, tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking. Also, make sure he or she knows if you have any allergies or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
