Ultravate® (
halobetasol propionate) is a prescription skin medication that is available as a cream or ointment. It is approved to treat various skin conditions, such as dermatitis, eczema, and
psoriasis. There are generic Ultravate products available for the cream and ointment medications.
Generic Ultravate ointment and cream are available in one strength (Halobetasol 0.05%) and are made by various manufacturers, such as Perrigo and GW Laboratories. Both the cream and ointment come in small tubes (15 grams) or large tubes (50 grams).
All of the generic halobetasol propionate versions currently available have an "AB" rating, meaning they should be equivalent to brand-name Ultravate.
