What Is Tazarotene Foam Used For?

What About Off-Label Uses?

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for something other than acne treatment. This is called an "off-label" use. Tazarotene foam and other similar retinoids are sometimes used off-label to treat various skin conditions, such as:

  • Actinic keratosis (a kind of precancerous skin lesion)
  • Keratosis pilaris (a common ailment that causes "bumpy skin," often on the back of the arms)
  • Melasma (dark pigmentation of the skin typically related to pregnancy or hormone use)
  • Psoriasis
  • Rosacea
  • Signs of sun damage (such as fine wrinkles or spots).
