Drug Interactions With Tazarotene Foam

More Information on Drug Interactions With Tazarotene Foam

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative reactions that can occur when tazarotene foam is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Fluoroquinolones
Both tazarotene foam and fluoroquinolones may increase a person's sensitivity to the sun. If you use these medications together, be aware that you may burn much more quickly. Stay out of the sun if possible, and use protective clothing and sunscreen when necessary. Check with your healthcare provider before using these medications together.

Other Acne Medications
In general, tazarotene foam should not be combined with other skin products that have a strong tendency to dry out the skin. If you have any doubt, check with your healthcare provider first. Benzoyl peroxide medications, including many different prescription and nonprescription products, should be used at a different time of day than tazarotene foam, as combining these products can cause a chemical reaction that makes tazarotene foam less effective.

Phenothiazines
Both tazarotene foam and phenothiazines may increase a person's sensitivity to the sun. If you use these medications together, be aware that you may burn much more quickly. Stay out of the sun if possible, and use protective clothing and sunscreen when necessary. Check with your healthcare provider before using these medications together.

Sulfonamides
Both tazarotene foam and sulfonamides may increase a person's sensitivity to the sun. If you use these medications together, be aware that you may burn much more quickly. Stay out of the sun if possible, and use protective clothing and sunscreen when necessary. Check with your healthcare provider before using these medications together.
