Ustekinumab Drug Information

An injectable drug, ustekinumab (Stelara™) is used to treat moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. It is specifically approved for use in adults who are candidates for phototherapy or systemic therapy (medications that are taken by mouth or by injection). Your healthcare provider will determine your individual dosing schedule, but typically, the second injection is given four weeks after the first. After the second injection, the drug is usually given once every 12 weeks.

In order to determine if ustekinumab is right for you, your healthcare provider needs information on your complete medical history and any other drugs you are taking -- including nonprescription products, vitamins, and supplements. Ustekinumab is not right for everyone, and it can react negatively with certain medications.
