Kenalog Ointment Information

Kenalog® ointment (triamcinolone acetonide ointment) is a medication prescribed for the treatment of various skin conditions in adults and children. For example, this medicine can help treat inflammation and itching caused by skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. It is typically applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin two to four times daily.

Although this steroid may help relieve certain skin conditions, not everyone can use Kenalog ointment. The medication's safety information should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to minimize risks and to help ensure safe treatment. For example, you may not be able to use this product if you have certain allergies, if you are taking certain medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Most people are able to use it without any problems, but side effects are possible and can include burning, dryness, and irritation. In most cases, reactions to the drug tend to be mild and easy to treat.
