IncobotulinumtoxinA Drug Information

IncobotulinumtoxinA (Xeomin®) is prescribed to help improve the appearance of wrinkles between the eyebrows, relieve certain types of neck spasms, and treat eyelid twitching. It comes as an injection that is given directly into the muscles that are causing the problems. The medication is only approved for use in adults age 18 and older.

IncobotulinumtoxinA works by decreasing the nerve signals to the muscles causing the problems. This allows the muscles to relax. However, this effect is not permanent; additional injections will be needed to maintain the beneficial effects.
Information your healthcare provider needs before you can receive incobotulinumtoxinA includes a list of all other drugs you are taking, including nonprescription medications and supplements, and any other medical conditions you have. Possible side effects of this medicine include droopy eyelids, dry mouth, and dry eyes. However, most people tolerate it well.
