Desonide Cream Information

By reducing inflammation and suppressing an overactive immune system, desonide cream (DesOwen®) can help treat certain skin conditions. This prescription drug is specifically designed to treat eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and certain other skin problems in adults. It is typically applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin two to three times daily.

Although this steroid may help relieve certain skin conditions, not everyone can use this medication. Information on desonide cream should be discussed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment to minimize risks and to help ensure safe treatment. For example, you may not be able to use this medicine if you have certain allergies, if you are taking certain medications, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Although most people tolerate this medicated skin cream well, side effects are possible and can include burning, stinging, and other skin irritation. In most cases, reactions to the drug are mild and easy to treat.
