Decadron Medication Information

Decadron® (dexamethasone) is a medication prescribed for the treatment of a variety of conditions, including certain rheumatic diseases, respiratory disorders, and eye and ear conditions.
 
Although the brand-name version of this medicine is no longer manufactured, it is available in several generic forms, including:
 
  • A tablet
  • Elixir (oral liquid)
  • Ophthalmic ointment (eye ointment)
  • Ophthalmic/otic solution (eye and ear drop)
  • An injection.

Although this steroid may help reduce inflammation caused by many conditions, not everyone can take this medication.
