Clindamycin/Benzoyl Peroxide Information

Clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide (Acanya®, BenzaClin®, Duac®) is a prescription acne medication. It is a combination of two active medicines and is applied to the skin once or twice a day. This acne drug is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs up-to-date information on your medical history and what medications you are taking before prescribing clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide.
 
Common side effects of this drug include:
 
  • Redness of the skin
  • Dry skin
  • Peeling skin.

However, most people are able to use it without any problems. To reduce your risk of skin irritation, keep this medicine away from your eyes, nose, mouth, or other body openings.
