Capex Medication Information

Seborrhea is a common skin condition that mainly affects the scalp, face, and torso. If seborrhea has affected your scalp, you may need treatment with Capex® (fluocinolone shampoo), a medicated shampoo that is used daily in place of your regular shampoo. Apply up to one ounce of the shampoo to the scalp and work to a good lather. Leave on for at least five minutes, then rinse off.
 
To help ensure a safe treatment with Capex, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other medications you are taking, including vitamins and supplements, as well as any allergies you may have, including to medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
 
Common side effects of this steroid include:
 
  • Dryness
  • Inflammation of skin follicles (folliculitis)
  • Acne.
