Calcipotriene Drug Information

The prescription medicine calcipotriene (Dovonex®) is approved for the treatment of a skin condition called plaque psoriasis. It comes in two different forms (cream and liquid) and is generally applied to the affected area twice a day. Common side effects include burning, stinging, or tingling at the application site.

Because not everyone should use calcipotriene, the drug information for this product should be reviewed with your healthcare provider before beginning treatment. For example, your healthcare provider needs to know if you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant. You should also provide a list of all medications and supplements you are taking.

(Click Calcipotriene for more information on this drug, including safety precautions to be aware of, what else your healthcare provider needs to know, and what to do in case of an overdose.)
