Can Children Use Rheumatrex?

This medication is approved for use in children for the treatment of cancer and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. It is not approved for treating psoriasis in children.

Off-Label Rheumatrex Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for treating something other than the conditions listed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. Some common off-label uses of Rheumatrex include treating the following conditions:
  • An ectopic pregnancy (often known as a "tubal" pregnancy)
  • Placenta accrete (a dangerous pregnancy complication involving the placenta attaching too firmly and deeply), for use after delivery
  • Crohn's disease
  • Dermatomyositis (a connective tissue disease that involves muscles and skin).
