Rheumatrex Dosage

The amount of Rheumatrex your doctor recommends will vary, based on the condition being treated, your weight, and other factors. For psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis treatment, the drug is usually taken once weekly, either as a single dose or split up into three doses taken every 12 hours. Your dosage of Rheumatrex will come as a tablet that can be taken with or without food.

The recommended dosage of Rheumatrex for treating cancer can vary significantly, based on the type of cancer, your weight, and how well you tolerate Rheumatrex. For some types of cancer, this medication is given once a week; for other types, it is given cyclically, such as a five-day course of treatment with a week-long (or longer) break between treatments.
 

Rheumatrex Dosage for Psoriasis or Rheumatoid Arthritis

For psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis treatment, Rheumatrex is usually taken once a week, either as a single dose or split up into three doses taken every 12 hours. For adults with rheumatoid arthritis, a typical dosage is 7.5 mg once weekly or 2.5 mg every 12 hours for three doses (once weekly).
 
For adults with psoriasis, a typical dosage is 10 to 25 mg once weekly or 2.5 mg every 12 hours for three doses (once weekly). For children with rheumatoid arthritis, your child's healthcare provider will calculate an appropriate dosage of Rheumatrex based on the child's weight.
 
Make sure you understand your dosing instructions thoroughly, as errors can be quite dangerous. For instance, taking a weekly Rheumatrex dose every day could be fatal.
