Protopic Drug Interactions

If calcium channel blockers, immunosuppressants, erythromycin, and other drugs are combined with Protopic, interactions can occur that might affect the levels of medication in your blood or increase your risk for potentially serious side effects. To avoid complications, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely or recommend a different medication altogether.

An Overview of Interactions With Protopic

Protopic® (tacrolimus ointment) can potentially react with several other medications. Some of the drugs that may interfere with Protopic include but are not limited to:
 
 
 
  • Other immunosuppressants, such as:
     
 
 
    • Corticosteroids, such as:
 
      • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
      • Cortisone
      • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
      • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
      • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
      • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
      • Prednisolone (Pediapred®)
      • Prednisone
      • Triamcinolone (Kenalog®)
