Drug Interactions

At this time, there are no known drug interactions with mometasone nasal spray, lotion, cream, or ointment. The inhaled form can interact with ketoconazole (Nizoral^®).

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking mometasone if you have:

Not had chickenpox or the measles (or have not been vaccinated against them)
Tuberculosis, herpes, or any other infections
Osteoporosis
Glaucoma or cataracts
Any allergies, including allergies to food (especially milk), dyes, or preservatives.

Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:

Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant (see Asmanex and Pregnancy)
Breastfeeding (see Asmanex and Breastfeeding).

You should also make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

What If I Overdose With Mometasone?

In previous studies, high doses of mometasone did not cause serious problems. However, if you happen to take an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Storage Methods

Mometasone should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.
