What Is Erythromycin/Benzoyl Peroxide?Erythromycin/benzoyl peroxide (Benzamycin®) is a prescription medication used to treat acne. It contains a combination of erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide, two acne medications. This is a topical medication, and is applied directly to the affected area(s) of the skin. It comes as a gel that is mixed by the pharmacist before you receive it, or as individual pouches (Benzamycin Pak) that require mixing right before each use.
Are There Side Effects?Just like any medicine, erythromycin/benzoyl peroxide can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
