Lidex Ointment Dosage

Your healthcare provider will consider the type and severity of the skin condition being treated before determining a dosage of Lidex® (fluocinonide) ointment. This prescription medicine is specifically approved for treating a wide variety of skin conditions, such as eczema, poison ivy, and dermatitis.
The usual Lidex ointment dosage for treating itching or inflammation caused by these skin conditions is a thin layer applied to the affected area(s) of the skin two to four times a day.
In some cases, your healthcare provider may recommend covering the medicine with a bandage. Although this can increase the effectiveness of the drug, it also increases the risk for side effects.
If no improvement is seen within two weeks, talk with your healthcare provider about a different treatment approach.
