Lamisil® -- a medicine prescribed for the treatment of nail fungus or tinea capitis (also known as ringworm of the scalp) -- works by either killing the infection-causing fungus or slowing down its growth in the skin and nails. The medication comes as a tablet that is taken by mouth and is available in a 250-mg strength. Side effects of Lamisil may include headache, diarrhea, or a rash.
