Lamisil® is commonly prescribed for treating fingernail, toenail fungus, or tinea capitis (also known as ringworm of the scalp). The medication works by acting on certain types of fungus in the skin and nails to either kill the fungus or slow down its growth. Lamisil comes in tablet form and is only available in a 250-mg strength. Potential side effects of the medicine may include headache, heartburn, diarrhea, or a rash.
