More Medicines That Interfere With Istodax

P-glycoprotein (Pgp) Inhibitors
P-glycoprotein is a protein in the body that helps remove substances, such as medications, from the tissues in the body so they can be excreted through the urine or feces. Pgp helps remove Istodax from the body, and medications known as Pgp inhibitors decrease the activity of Pgp.

Combining Istodax with one of these Pgp inhibitors causes the drug to be removed more slowly, potentially increasing the amount of Istodax in your body and increasing your risk for side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely for side effects if you combine Istodax with one of these drugs.

Warfarin
Istodax has been reported to prolong the prothrombin time ("protime" or PT) and increase the international normalized ratio (INR) in people taking warfarin, which indicates there may be an increased risk for bleeding problems. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your PT/INR more closely if you use these medicines together and lower your warfarin dosage if necessary.
