Injectable Poly-L Lactic Acid Dosage

For correcting facial fat loss, wrinkles, or fold lines with injectable poly-L lactic acid, your dosage will depend on the severity of your condition and how you respond to these injections. In many cases, several treatment sessions are necessary, with two or three weeks between treatments. The procedure for injecting this product is brief and is performed by a healthcare provider.

An Introduction to Your Dosage of Injectable Poly-L Lactic Acid

The dosing guidelines for injectable poly-L lactic acid (Sculptra®) will vary, depending on the severity of your condition and how you respond to the treatments. What works for one individual may not work for another. There are two different products (Sculptra and Sculptra Aesthetic); these products are not significantly different, except that they are approved for different uses.

Injectable Poly-L Lactic Acid Aesthetic Dosing for Wrinkles and Lines

The recommended Sculptra Aesthetic treatment regimen for treating wrinkles and lines in the face is one to four treatments, with three weeks between treatments. Typically, three treatments are necessary. You will need to visit your healthcare provider three weeks after each dose to assess whether or not further treatments would be beneficial.

Keep in mind that you will not see the full effects of the treatments immediately. Sculptra Aesthetic works by stimulating the body to produce more collagen, and this process takes time (usually weeks or months).

Injectable Poly-L Lactic Acid Dosing for HIV Facial Fat Loss

The recommended treatment regimen for treating facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in people with HIV is one to six treatments, with two or three weeks between treatments. You will need to visit your healthcare provider two or three weeks after each treatment to assess whether further treatments would be beneficial. "Touch-up" treatments may be necessary after the initial treatment regimen (of one to six treatments) in order to maintain the desired effects.

Keep in mind that you will not see the full effects of the treatments immediately. Injectable poly-L lactic acid works by stimulating the body to produce more collagen, and this process takes time (usually weeks or months).
