Imiquimod Instructions

Your healthcare provider will give you specific instructions on when and how to use imiquimod (Aldara®, Zyclara®). The dosing guidelines, however, will vary from person to person and will depend on the particular product being used, the condition being treated, and whether you develop severe skin reactions.

In many cases, the skin cream is applied at bedtime, left on for about eight hours, and then washed off in the morning. If your dosage does not use up an entire package of the cream, you should not save the remainder for later. Discard the extra, and use a fresh package for each dose. If you develop severe skin reactions, you might have to temporarily stop using imiquimod.
