Flurandrenolide Lotion Dosage

With flurandrenolide lotion, your dose will depend on the type of skin condition being treated. In general, a small amount of the lotion will be applied on the affected areas two to three times daily. Your healthcare provider may also recommend covering this medicine with a dressing to improve the absorption of the drug.

An Introduction to Your Dosage of Flurandrenolide Lotion

The standard recommended dose for flurandrenolide lotion (Cordran® Lotion) varies, depending on the condition being treated. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Flurandrenolide Lotion Dosing Guidelines for Skin Conditions

The standard starting dosage for treating itching or inflammation due to a wide variety of skin conditions (such as psoriasis, eczema, or allergic reactions) in adults is a thin film of flurandrenolide lotion applied to the affected areas of the skin two to three times a day.

For stubborn areas, your healthcare provider may recommend that you cover flurandrenolide lotion with an occlusive dressing (a barrier that prevents any moisture from getting through). Your healthcare provider or pharmacist can help you find an appropriate occlusive dressing. Sometimes, simply using plastic wrap (such as Saran Wrap™) and tape will work.

However, do not use a dressing unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so, as this increases the absorption of the drug and increases the risk for serious flurandrenolide lotion side effects.

General Information on Using Flurandrenolide Lotion

Some considerations to keep in mind during treatment with flurandrenolide lotion include the following:

  • Ask your healthcare provider how long you should use this medication. In general, long-term use of steroids, including flurandrenolide lotion, is usually not recommended, due to the risk for serious side effects. However, the benefits of long-term use may outweigh the risks in some situations.

  • For the medication to work properly, it must be used as prescribed.

  • If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or flurandrenolide lotion dosing in general, please talk to your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
