Important Instructions for Fluocinonide

Dosing Information

The dose of fluocinonide your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on the particular product and the severity and type of medical condition being treated. As always, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Overdose Information

An overdose with fluocinonide can cause serious problems. This is especially true if too much is used over an extended period. If you or someone else may have used too much, or taken this medication by mouth, seek immediate medical attention.

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Fluocinonide?

If you forget to take your dose, apply it as soon as possible, unless it is almost time for the next dose, in which case you should simply skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not use a double dose.
 

Storage Information

Fluocinonide should be stored at room temperature. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
 

Is There a Generic Version of Fluocinonide?

At this time, the 0.05% products (Lidex), but not the 0.1% cream (Vanos) are available in generic form (click Generic Lidex and Generic Vanos for more information).
