What to Expect With Elidel

Side Effects of Elidel

Just like any medicine, Elidel can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well. If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.

Drug Interactions

Elidel may react with a few other medicines (see Elidel Drug Interactions).
 

Important Information for Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to using Elidel if you have:
 
  • A history of, or currently have, lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes), skin cancer, or any other type of cancer
  • A rare genetic skin condition called Netherton's syndrome
  • Any infection on your skin, including chickenpox or herpes
  • A weakened immune system due to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), or any other cause
  • Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
 
 
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all of the medicines you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
