Elidel Cream and Cancer
Before starting treatment with Elidel® (pimecrolimus), make sure your healthcare provider knows if you currently have any type of cancer or have a history of it. This information is important for your doctor to know about, as Elidel cream can cause cancer, including skin cancer and lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes).
Although this complication is a rare occurrence, make sure you contact your healthcare provider if you develop any changes in your skin or if you discover lumps in your neck, underarms, or groin area (swollen lymph nodes).
(Click Elidel Warnings and Precautions for an in-depth look at the reports of people developing certain types of cancer while using Elidel cream, as well as other important safety concerns to be aware of with this medicine.)
