Elidel 1%

If your healthcare provider prescribes Elidel® (pimecrolimus), only one standard dosage is recommended for treating atopic dermatitis. Regardless of your age, apply a thin amount of Elidel 1% cream on the affected areas of skin twice daily. Although only one strength of this medicated skin cream is available, there are various sizes of tubes (30 grams, 60 grams, and 100 grams).

Elidel is approved for use in adults and children as young as two years old. It is specifically approved to treat mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema). This skin condition is thought to occur when the immune system has an overactive response to a trigger, leading to symptoms such as redness, a rash, and itching. By making the immune system less active, Elidel can relieve the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
