What Is Desoximetasone Spray Used For?

How Does This Medicine Work?

Desoximetasone spray is part of a group of medications known as glucocorticoids, which are a type of corticosteroid (or "steroid" for short). Although glucocorticoids have numerous effects in the body, they are used mostly for their anti-inflammatory or immune-suppressing properties. Desoximetasone spray works for most conditions by decreasing inflammation or suppressing an overactive immune system.
 

Can Children Use Desoximetasone Spray?

Desoximetasone spray is not approved for use in children. Children have an increased risk for serious side effects with steroids. As mentioned previously, desoximetasone spray is an extremely potent steroid, too potent for use in children.
