Desoximetasone Spray Dosage

When treating plaque psoriasis, desoximetasone spray dosing guidelines are the same for everyone -- apply a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin twice daily. Do not use this medication for more than four weeks at a time, as it is not intended for long-term use. Also, only apply a thin film and use it sparingly.

An Introduction to Your Dosage of Desoximetasone Spray

There is only one standard dose for desoximetasone spray (Topicort®). As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Recommended Desoximetasone Spray Dosing Guidelines

The standard dosage of desoximetasone spray for treating plaque psoriasis is a thin layer applied to the affected area(s) twice a day. Gently rub the medication into the skin, being careful not to damage the irritated skin. Wash your hands after applying the spray, unless you are treating your hands.

Do not use a dressing or bandage to cover the area, as this increases the risk for serious steroid-related side effects. Do not use this medication for more than four weeks at a time, as it is too potent for long-term use. Also, do not apply desoximetasone spray to the face, armpits, or groin.
