Desonate^® (desonide gel) is a skin medication used to treat atopic dermatitis. The most common symptoms of this condition are dry, itchy skin and rashes on the face, inside the elbows, behind the knees, and on the hands and feet. This steroid gel is applied to the affected skin areas twice a day for no longer than four weeks. It is approved for use in people age three months and older.
