Medicines That Interact With Decadron

Guanfacine
Decadron may decrease the levels of guanfacine in your blood, potentially making it less effective. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may choose to give you a higher guanfacine dose.
 
Ixabepilone
Decadron may decrease the levels of ixabepilone in your blood, potentially making it less effective. If you take these medications together, your healthcare provider may choose to give you a higher ixabepilone dose.
 
Leflunomide
Decadron may increase your risk for potentially serious leflunomide side effects. Your healthcare provider will monitor you more closely if you take these medications together.
 
Lenalidomide
Taking Decadron with lenalidomide may increase your risk for potentially serious blood clots. Your healthcare provider may choose to give you a medication to help prevent blood clots, such as warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven), if you take Decadron and lenalidomide.
 
Live Vaccinations
Because Decadron may weaken the immune system, it is generally recommended that people not receive live vaccinations while taking Decadron. People who have taken Decadron at high doses or for a long time should not receive live vaccinations for one to three months after stopping Decadron. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before getting a vaccination.
 
Lurasidone
Decadron may decrease the levels of lurasidone in your blood, potentially making it less effective. In general, these medications should not be taken together.
 
Maraviroc
Decadron may decrease the levels of maraviroc in your blood, which could make it less effective. Your healthcare provider may choose to give you a higher maraviroc dose if you take these medications together.
