Pediatric and Off-Label Indications for Clobex

Can Children Use It?

Clobex is not recommended for people under the age of 18. It is a highly potent steroid, and young children are more likely to absorb too much of this medication, perhaps leading to serious side effects. If steroid treatment is necessary for a child, a milder, less potent steroid would probably be more appropriate.

Off-Label Uses for Clobex

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Clobex for something other than the approved uses. This is known as an "off-label" use. For example, using the spray form for eczema, atopic dermatitis, or anything other than plaque psoriasis would be an off-label use. Using the shampoo on the body (instead of just the scalp) would also be considered an off-label use.
