Clindamycin Benzoyl Peroxide Gel

One of many acne treatments available, clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide (Acanya®, BenzaClin®, Duac®) comes in the form of a skin gel that is applied once or twice a day. It is approved for use in people over 12 years old.

To get the most out of this skin gel -- and to reduce your risk of irritation and other side effects -- it's important to go over the instructions on how to use it correctly. For example, before applying the gel, gently wash the affected area with a mild cleanser, rinse with warm water, and pat dry. Allow your skin to dry completely before use. Applying more than a pea-sized amount, or applying the gel more often than prescribed, will not make it work better or faster.
