Off-Label and Pediatric Indications for Clemastine

Can Children Use It?

Non-prescription and prescription clemastine tablets are approved for use in children as young as 12 years old. Prescription clemastine syrup is approved for use in children as young as six years old.
 

Off-Label Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend clemastine for something other than the approved uses listed above (this would be known as an "off-label" use). Off-label uses of clemastine include:
 
  • Preventing negative reactions to certain IV medications (such as some chemotherapy drugs)
  • Treating morning sickness (see Clemastine and Pregnancy).
