Calcipotriene (
Dovonex®,
Sorilux®) is a prescription medication approved for treating
plaque psoriasis. It comes in the form of a cream, ointment, solution (liquid), and foam. The liquid form is usually used on the scalp.
Are There Side Effects?
Just like any medicine, calcipotriene may cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can be treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious reactions are less common.
The most common side effects seen with calcipotriene include:
- Redness
- Burning
- Stinging
- Tingling
- Skin irritation.
