Adapalene/Benzoyl Peroxide
Adapalene/benzoyl peroxide is prescribed to treat acne. This medication works by reducing inflammation, slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells, and killing acne-causing bacteria. It comes in the form of a gel that is applied to the skin once a day. Although most people tolerate this medication well, side effects may include a burning or stinging sensation and dry skin.
Adapalene/benzoyl peroxide (Epiduo®) is a prescription medication used to treat acne. It comes in the form of a gel that is applied directly to the skin.

Just like any medicine, adapalene/benzoyl peroxide can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the medicine will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
Some of the most common side effects of adapalene/benzoyl peroxide include but are not limited to:
- Redness
- Scaling
- Dry skin
- A burning or stinging sensation.
If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
